Sue Serino (R,C-Hyde Park) today officially announced her campaign for Dutchess County Executive. A four-term state Senator, former Dutchess County Legislator and longtime local small business owner, Serino brings decades of hands-on experience, advocacy and insights to the position.
Serino is building her campaign on the foundation of listening, caring and leading. As County Executive, these would be the guiding principles she would put to use in helping Dutchess County continue to grow and prosper.
“I’m so excited to announce that I’m running for Dutchess County Executive,” said Serino. “I feel incredibly fortunate to have lived and worked in our county for most of my life and serving as county executive is another way to give back to the people and communities that have given me and my family so much.
“Serving our communities and helping to improve the lives of others is my passion,” she continued. “Whether it was operating my own business, serving in the county legislature or the four terms I spent as State Senator, working directly with, and on behalf of, our hardworking neighbors has been incredibly rewarding.
“With the support of Dutchess County residents, we’ve made real strides in making home ownership more affordable and developing economic growth and development,” said Serino. “I was proud to partner with our last elected county executive, Marc Molinaro, and he’s put our county in great shape for the future.
“As Dutchess County Executive, I’ll build on that foundation and take actions to enhance our community even more,” she added. “That means bolstering our job training services, so our businesses can fill vacancies and residents seeking work can find a meaningful, good-paying career. And it means making sure families have affordable, safe neighborhoods with access to the services and programs they need to thrive.
“In the weeks and months ahead, I plan to share a vision for the future of Dutchess County that empowers all of our neighbors. I look forward to meeting directly with voters to hear their concerns and share how my unique experience can help make a difference in their lives. It’s truly been a privilege to serve our community and I hope to continue that as the next Dutchess County Executive.”
